Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is an Mexican American singer-songwriter and popular actress. Her mother raised her throughout the USA she had to face numerous racial insults which gave her feeling of being unwelcome. When she attended a 9th grade school audition, where she received high praise for her voice, she started to build confidence. It not only boosted her confidence but also changed the direction of her career. In 1992, she earned her degree from New York's Julliard School. As she was turning 23 she began her professional career in Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Then, aged 23, her movie debut was You've got mail. The biggest accomplishment of her career occurred in the role of The Lady Of The Lake in Spamalot's original Broadway production. In addition to being the only actress to receive the Tony Award, but her performance was also praised by the critics. The recognition grew even more for her appearance on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. In addition to being an acclaimed singer she also released her own solo album and a longer piece. In addition, she's an activist who is a tireless advocate in the fight for LGBT rights.
