Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. Her first Broadway roles, she played her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The role she played on stage in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel earned her the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in a Play. Annaleigh Ashford Tony Award winner actor has worked alongside acclaimed actors and directors in stage films and television. Ashford continues to build on her award-winning career by working on new projects. Ashford will be next as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It premieres on the 22nd of November. Ashford currently works in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust opposite Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. It's also available in the form of an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford's Broadway return is scheduled to take place on March 20, 2023. He plays alongside Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. This show will be produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team which created Hamilton. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the National Crisis that saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp at the center of the first impeachment proceeding in America over a Century. Ashford starred for two seasons on the CBS popular comedy B Positive. It was co-produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda lavin Sheryl Crow, Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her portrayal of Essie on You Can't Take It with You was a winner of the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Other Broadway roles are Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the originating role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford, who was born in Denver and now lives living in Los Angeles and New York.
